The Security and Defence Sectors

RH has extensive experience in providing interfaces to meet the challenging requirements of domestic security and military defence.

50 years of Security and Defence

RH Technical Industries has supplied interfaces for rugged displays, equipment facias and control panels for the Security and Defence sectors for over half a century.

Military forces need to be able to operate anywhere in the world. Explicitly,  their equipment needs to work in all conditions; night or day, with extremes in temperature and humidity. Regardless of where forces are stationed, or the assignment; such as engineering, reconnaissance, communications, logistics or defence, our design engineers understand the requirements set by the MOD and DOD for field equipment.

In addition to the Military needs, we are also involved with many civil security projects. Similarly, we have helped implement equipment used at seaports, land borders and airport checkpoints to improve the safe passage of travellers. For instance, we have produced devices used for the detection of explosives and narcotics. Furthermore, we have also created wearable chemical and radiation gear. Consequently, security equipment must have the required quality and sensitivity to operate reliably in a fast-moving environment.

HMIs that are built to last

RH can supply an extensive range of material finishes used for the enhancement, or more appropriate to this sector, the protection of equipment. It must be remembered that all components produced for Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) must be built to withstand the harshest of security and military working conditions. Coupled with our ability to print onto a wide range of thin-film plastics such as Polyester, Polycarbonate and Acrylic, adds flexibility to your product design. Finally, there are also options where we can construct keypads and HMIs that meet an IP67 rating. To this end, RH can meet the European IP rating standards which as used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies and moisture.
