Queen Elizabeth II marks a milestone in British history
The Platinum Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II marks a milestone in British history. The Queen is the first British monarch to reach 70 years on the throne. She came to the throne on 6th February 1952 and her coronation took place the following year, on 2nd June 1953. Over her long reign, the world and the British Empire have dramatically changed. Global politics, De-colonialization, Communication, Entertainment, Technology, and Life are all hugely different in comparison over these 70 years. However, she has been a beacon of diplomatic perfection and guiding light for the commonwealth during all these years. RH Technical Industries Ltd would like to honour her majesty by wishing the Queen a very Happy Jubilee!
Queen Elizabeth II is also the longest-reigning female head of state in world history. With only Louis XIV of France and Sobhuza II of Swaziland with longer reigns. The next longest-reigning British monarchs were Queen Victoria, who reigned for 63 years, and despite his medical conditions, George III reigned for 59 years. The shortest was the unpleasant 9-day reign of Jane Grey, deposed by Queen Mary I in 1553. The Queen also reigned during 14 US presidents and 15 Prime ministers starting with Churchill and Truman.

At RH, we would humbly like to mark this special occasion by planting a Liquidambar styraciflua tree. We hope this tree will brighten up the premises’ entrance for many years to come. Surrounding this tree, we will also sow some wildflowers once the roots have settled to create a small natural area to encourage wildlife like our struggling domestic bees. 35 UK bee species are under threat of extinction as their habitat is increasingly removed.
We hope all our staff and customers have a wonderful extra day of holiday to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s fantastic achievement.
